Bio

Mary is a researcher, author and lecturer in early childhood education and care. Her special interests include but are not confined to how early childhood policy translates into every day practice, professional identity and governance within the early childhood sector. Mary is also interested in international perspectives on early childhood education and has visited Slovenia, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Reggio Emilia in Northern Italy. In 2014, she received a teaching hero award from the National Teaching and Learning Forum for her work as lecturer in early childhood education at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. She has presented at numerous conferences nationally and internationally, including a key note address at the Child Forum Conference in Wellington, New Zealand in 2011. Mary has also featured on Prime Time with Miriam O’Callaghan in response to the ‘Prime Time Breach of Trust Investigation’ in 2013.
