Philip Watt is CEO of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland (CFI0, the national CF expert patient group on Cystic Fibrosis in Ireland. Cystic Fibrosis Ireland advocates on behalf of people with CF and their families to improve CF services in Ireland, the provide advice to our members, to support research and organ donation and transplantation. CFI was recognised as the 'Irish Healthcare Centre of the Year' in 2013, which is the year the association celebrated its 50th year. Philip Watt is also chairperson of the Medical Research Charities group (MRCG) and the Irish Donor Network (IDN). He was formerly Director of the NCCRI which advised the Irish government on intercultural approaches to integration (1998-2008) and was President of TCD Student's Union. He is a graduate in History (BA (Mod) form TCD and postgraduate in Social Policy and Planning (MSC) from the University of Ulster. He is author of a wide ranging set of publications and articles on cystic fibrosis; rare diseases; racism and history.
